Day 1 : Arrival in Mexico

You will arrive at the end of the day, an agent will personally meet you at the airport, give you your welcome kit, and you will pick up your rental car. 
You will spend your first night in Cancun, in a small hotel in the downtown. Just enough time to get your strength back and start your roadtrip peacefully.

Day 2 : Discovering Tulum by your own

Today you take the car direction Tulum, 2 hours from Cancun, where you will enjoy the village, the beach, or its cenotes in total freedom. 

You will find all our local tips in the travel roadbook that we will give you on your arrival. 




Day 3 : Sunrise over the ruins of Tulum

At dawn, before opening hours, you will visit the archaeological site of Tulum. An absolutely unusual and exclusive experience, which will allow you to enjoy the sunrise, alone on the site, with a breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea. 

You will then visit two cenotes, with distinct geological formations, where you can snorkel or swim at your leisure. 

You will then go to a Mayan family to learn how to make tortillas, and eat on site. 

 




Day 4 : Explore Bacalar, lake of the 7 shades of blue

Today you drive in the direction of Bacalar, known for its lagoon of the 7 shades of blue. 

At the end of the afternoon, you will go to admire the sunset in paddle on the lagoon. An entertaining experience, where you will enjoy in absolutely unique orange colours while rowing peacefully. 




Day 5 : Catamaran on the lagoon

Discover the wonderful Lagoon of the Seven shades of blue on a catamaran with an expert guide who will share with you all his knowledge of the lake's biodiversity.

You will let yourself be carried by the wind, and observe different varieties of mangroves and several species of birds. You will take a short swimming break in these turquoise waters while tasting tropical fruits in a dreamlike setting! 

2 options are available for this escapade: Kayak or Catamaran. 

 




Day 6 : In the heart of Yucatán

This morning you enjoy your hotel facing the lagoon, then take the road to Tzucacab, a small village in the heart of the Yucatán Peninsula. 




Day 7 : On the Puuc road, Uxmal archaeological site

Go and discover the impressive archaeological site by the grandeur of its structures, all dedicated to the god of rain. Uxmal, Puuc style, is one of the most beautiful archaeological sites in Yucatán not only for its remarkable buildings but also for its very green environment.

We invite you to meet your guide Ricardo at the entrance of the site at 8:30 am and go to visit together the main buildings. Ricardo has 20 years of experience, mostly in Uxmal, and in the whole Yucatán region. He is passionate about pre-Hispanic culture and painting.

After the visit, you will reach the village of Celestún where you will spend the night. 




Day 8 : Mangroves and pink flamingos in Celestún

Go off the beaten path with a certified local guide. The Celestún Reserve is a spectacle whose colours are well worth the detour!
A superb excursion awaits you there, at sunrise, with an expert biodiversity guide. Ideal to discover the biodiversity of Yucatán, in absolutely authentic landscapes.

You will have the opportunity to observe various species of birds including pink flamingos (very visible between
September and February).

Your guide will make you discover the local flora and ecosystem and will give you all the necessary explanations.




Day 9 : Merida and its Cenotes by bike

Get on your bikes in the morning to discover the surroundings of Merida, off the beaten path. 

In addition to visiting the city's main buildings such as the Cathedral of San Idelfonso, La Casa Montejo or the Government Palace, we invite you to enter the marketsand stroll along Paseo Montejo Avenue, where the large colonial villas were built.

You will also be able to take 2 breaks in cenotes to refresh yourself.




Day 10 : Discover Izamal, the Golden Village and Chichen Itzá, wonder of the world

On the road from Merida, in the direction of Chichén Itzá and Valladolid, the village of Izamal is a good option to rest. Izamal is a "Pueblo Mágico" (= magic town) in which all the façades are yellow. There are hacienda type buildings and typical colonial architecture.

After Izamal, you arrive at Chichén Itzá, where you will find one of the 7 wonders of the world: Kukulkan Temple. Immerse yourself between the Mayan and Toltec cultures! Learn the history of a unique archaeological site at sunset outside official opening hours.

You will learn all about the history of Chichén Itzá with your private English-speaking guide Juan, and the recent discoveries made there. You will visit the impressive pelota court, the temple of a thousand columns, the old market and the observatory.




Day 11 : Day off in Valladolid

Self guided tour of the city, its central square, the Church of San Servacio, the Ex-Convento and the San Bernardino Museum of Siena, typical market. Ideal city for the purchase of handicrafts, clothes...

You'll can swim in the Zací cenote, located in the center of the city, its location is exceptional!

Day 12 : Welcome to paradise: Holbox Island.

Today you leave for Holbox Island! Welcome to paradise, white sandy beaches, nature and disconnection guaranteed. 
You will park your car in the village of Chiquila, where you will board a ferry. Cars are not allowed to enter the island. 
You will reach your eco-friendly hotel with sea view, and enjoy the beach in the afternoon.

Today, it's time to relax. You will enjoy the hotel's beach, and discover the island on your own. 
Bicycles are available free of charge in your accommodation. So you can explore the island freely.

Day 14 : Exploring mangroves by kayak

In this route, let yourself be guided through the mangroves, where you can observe various birds, spectacular scenery, and probably crocodiles! Thanks to this non-motorized transport (kayak), you can will be able to listen to the sweet song of the birds.

The mangroves are home to different species of birds than those that can be seen on the coast. Sometimes crocodiles and flamingos can be seen, basking in the sun by the canals.

Today is the end of the holidays! You can enjoy your last morning on this paradise island before heading to Cancun. There you will return your rental car, your phone we lent you, and catch your plane home!
