    Pijao is a charming municipality in Quindío, recognized by UNESCO as the first “Cittaslow” in Latin America, a movement that promotes a calm, sustainable lifestyle in harmony with nature. Its cobblestone streets, colorful houses, and peaceful atmosphere invite you to stroll. Surrounded by mountains and coffee plantations, Pijao offers an authentic experience of coffee culture, far from the crowds, with a human warmth that makes it unforgettable. After breakfast, departure by Willys from the hotel to the El Silencio cloud forest, a magical place that lets you discover the untouched beauty of this ecosystem. During the visit, you will be able to observe the Quindío wax palms, Colombia’s national tree, in their natural habitat, as well as the yellow-eared parrots, an endangered species that lives in the region and contributes to the regeneration of the palms. The trail crosses an oak forest more than 250 years old, creating an atmosphere of deep connection with nature. Midway along the route, you will be able to enjoy a countryside picnic consisting of a sandwich with Colombian flavors (artisan sweet mogolla, suero costeño, artisan pork ham, fresh spinach, Ubaté cheese and avocado sauce), banana or arracacha chips, a drink (beer or soda) and grenadillas for dessert, all facing the magnificent Durango waterfall. This is a medium-difficulty hike, ideal for nature and hiking lovers. At the end of the circuit, you will go down by Willys to the village of Pijao for a relaxing walk through its colonial streets, its central square and Calle Real, where you can admire its brightly colored façades, its craft shops and its typical cafés. The visit includes time to take photos and enjoy the calm and welcoming atmosphere of this coffee-growing municipality before returning to the hotel by private transport. During the visit, you will discover the history of coffee and the farm, you will walk through the coffee plantations and you will take part in activities such as harvesting or planting coffee, depending on the stage of the crop.     A car will take you from the surroundings of Tayrona Park to Cañaveral (round trip). Travel time: about 30 minutes. Tayrona takes us to a magical place, located between the mountains, the tropical forest and the sea. There we discover the most beautiful white-sand beaches in the country, as well as ancient volcanic stones bathed in the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. This day begins with a hike in the heart of the tropical jungle, starting from the entrance of Cañaveral. The trail will lead you to the wild beaches of Arrecifes, then to La Piscina, ideal for swimming and snorkeling (equipment not included), to finish in style at Cabo San Juan del Guía, a spectacular white-sand bay nestled between immense volcanic rocks. Throughout this crossing, you will enjoy exceptional fauna and flora. The Ciénaga is the largest and most important coastal lagoon in Colombia. It is also the main source of income from fishing on Colombia’s northern coast. It is considered a strategic place of vital importance for the planet. The fishermen of the community live off what the Ciénaga provides and reside in stilt villages. During this unique experience, we will immerse ourselves in the magic of the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta, sailing from the tourist stop in Puebloviejo aboard a motorboat. Accompanied by local guides, guardians of this amphibious territory, we will discover its history, its culture, and its deep connection with water. We experience a dynamic cultural exchange with typical dances from the region, we learn ancestral techniques during a handicraft workshop with driftwood, and we enjoy a delicious traditional meal based on fresh fish, or a vegetarian option. Our route takes us through the aquatic streets of Nueva Venecia (Magdalena), where we visit the square, the church, the school, and the iconic floating football field. We also explore Buenavista (Magdalena), cross its stilt bridge, and interact with host families who open the doors of their homes to tell us their stories and show us this very unique way of life.
