Description du séjour

Entre les musées d'Ottawa et l'animation nocturne de Toronto, on arpente un Canada urbain, lové dans les grands espaces de la région des Grands Lacs. Au fil de la route, on goûte à quelques douceurs typiques de l'Ontario, à bord d'une croisière vers les Mille-Iles, avant de terminer son voyage au pied des vrombissantes chutes du Niagara.
Jour 1

Ottawa, entre musées et restaurants

Après votre arrivée à Ottawa, faites un tour sur la Colline du Parlement et longez le canal Rideau. Visitez les nombreux musées de la capitale, dont l'incontournable Musée canadien de l'histoire (à Gatineau au Québec, à quelques minutes d'Ottawa). Faites une pause à la cafétéria du Musée des beaux-arts du Canada et profitez de la vue saisissante sur la rivière et le Parlement, puis partez à la découverte du Marché By, de ses nombreuses boutiques et de ses restaurants. Le soir, un dîner dans l'un des bons restaurants de la ville s'impose. Pour les amateurs d'aventure, participez à la marche " hantée " de la capitale nationale : une expérience qui vous donnera la chair de poule !
Jour 2

Croisière dans les mille-iles

Partez tôt le matin pour Kingston. Prenez l'autoroute 416, puis la 401 en direction de Gananoque. De la marina, embarquez à la découverte des Mille-Iles. Dégustez des fruits de mer dans l'un des restaurants de Gananoque et dirigez-vous vers Kingston en début d'après-midi. Arrivé à Kingston, prenez le bus touristique (Kingston Trolley Tours) pour un tour complet de cette charmante ville. Terminez votre journée par un dîner dans les voûtes du Fort Henry, lieu chargé d'histoire. Pour ceux qui n'auraient pas fait la croisière à Gananoque, offrez-vous le bonheur d'une croisière-repas au coucher de soleil à bord du bateau-mouche de Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises. Mémorable !
Jour 3

Sur la route de Toronto, Picton et Sandbanks

Si vous partez assez tôt le matin, nous vous suggérons fortement d'emprunter la route 33 depuis Kingston jusqu'au traversier (ferry) de Glenora. Faites un arrêt rapide dans la charmante petite ville de Picton et dirigiez-vous vers l'immense plage de sable fin du parc provincial Sandbanks. Rejoignez ensuite l'autoroute 401 vers Toronto. Une fois en ville, laissez votre voiture dans le stationnement de l'hôtel et prenez le métro ou marchez. Découvrez le centre-ville et ses nombreux magasins, notamment le Centre Eaton, et visitez le Musée des beaux-arts de l'Ontario (AGO). Terminez votre journée par un dîner dans l'un des nombreux restaurants de la ville.
Jour 4

A vous Toronto

Cette journée est entièrement consacrée à Toronto. Dirigez-vous vers le lac Ontario et faites une visite de la Tour CN, l'une des plus hautes tours du monde. Prenez le traversier en direction des îles de Toronto et finissez votre matinée par un pique-nique. De retour en ville, prenez l'après-midi pour visiter le Royal Ontario Museum ; les enfants lui préféreront l'Ontario Science Center et ses nombreuses activités éducatives. Le soir, profitez de votre présence dans l'une des villes les plus culturelles d'Amérique du Nord pour assister à un concert, une pièce de théâtre ou un opéra.
Jour 5

Au pied des chutes du niagara

Prenez l'autoroute Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) en direction de Niagara-on-the-Lake, région réputée pour son vin de glace et la cueillette de fruits frais. Profitez des dégustations et déjeunez dans l'un des restaurants de Niagara-on-the-Lake ou de St. Catharines. Découvrez la beauté des chutes majestueuses du Niagara au coucher du soleil et ensuite dînez au restaurant panoramique de la Tour Skylon, d'où vous pourrez admirer la vue sur la ville et les chutes. Terminez votre journée par un tour au casino.
