The most common type of stay offered to you if you use a travel agency (or Internet offers) is the week package (include seven nights on site, sometimes even six nights, which is quite short). Experienced people will confirm that a week on site is not enough. The flight lasts about 8 to 9 hours and there is a 5 or 6 hour time difference depending on the period, the calculation is quickly done. For example, you leave Paris on a Saturday, arrive in the late afternoon or early evening on the same day. You must fly again the following Saturday in order to arrive in metropolitan France on Sunday (most often at dawn, after spending the night on the plane). If we consider that the day after arrival is the phase of getting to know each other and that the last day is reserved for preparations, this really leaves you on the spot for five full days to discover the island. However, the island is not large and you can drive around during the day. Residence is therefore not a problem. Here is an example of a stay that allows you to make the most of Saint-Martin based on a seven-night stay on site

You arrive at Juliana Airport, the Dutch side. Tropical moisture overwhelms your body, you are exhausted by the journey and you have only one idea: pick up your rental car and get to your hotel! Once on the spot, you don't have the time of dinner. A good shower and bed (5 or 6 hours time lag depending on season), you will see clearer tomorrow.
Wake up at sunrise (from 5h30 to 6h), time difference required! You are in great shape after a night's sleep and you are already enjoying the pleasure of tropical well-being. The sky is blue and the light is strong. We suggest you enjoy the hotel (idleness, swimming pool, beach), take your bearings and think about organizing your week. It should be noted that late afternoons are ideal for aperitifs on sea fronts or in marinas.
The first effects of the sun begin to be felt, especially if you have white skin... The reddish skin allows the locals to identify you, you have just arrived! According to your precautions, you are covered with more or less sunburn and the beach day seems reasonably impossible. Take advantage of exploring the island by car and shopping for example late in the afternoon.
We recommend that you do a thematic day. Please consult our section "Sports, leisure and games". If you like the boat, don't miss the opportunity to do a day-charter, which means a trip at sea aboard a maxi-catamaran or other type of sailboat. This full day allows you to discover a neighbouring island, Anguilla. Departures are often around 8-9am and returns at sunset (5:30pm). Lunch can be taken on board and there are many swimming stops with snorkeling (snorkeling). You can also opt for a day out in Saint-Barthélemy. In our opinion, this is essential. Not visiting this little pearl on the ocean would simply be a pity.

Taking advantage of having taken your bearings the day after your arrival, you spend these two days doing other activities and discovering the parts of the island that you enjoyed the most. Other activities are also available to you such as scuba diving (half day), sea scooter rides (half day), plane flights, windsurfing (Orient Bay beach), etc.
It would be a pity not to make maximum use of the Caribbean Sea. Swimming, water sports or simply sunbathing. Before you return, take the time to shop.
It's already starting. Most flights are scheduled for late afternoon. A little friendly note, the accommodation facilities allow you to change before leaving for the airport by providing you with luggage and showers, which is an advantage, because you can fully enjoy your last moments.
