Trip description

We will leave for at least two weeks to tour Ghana and discover what this country has to offer. Starting with its capital Accra, then heading north before going back down to the coast for a relaxing break.

Arrival in Accra, rest. Night in Accra.

Visit of the National Museum of Ghana, lunch at Aunt Marie, and then walk in the old quarter of James Town. If there is a little time left, it must go to the Makola market to fall into the African atmosphere. Night in Accra.




Day 3 : Discovery of Ashanti culture

Departure early for Kumasi, the second largest city in the country and the capital of the Ashanti kingdom. Visit the palace of the king of Ashanti and stroll through the huge market of Kumasi. Night in Kumasi.




Day 4 : Looking for gold



Go back to Kumasi-Obuasi day to discover the gold mines. Night in Kumasi.




Day 5 : Chutes Falls



Departure for Techiman and visit of Kintampo Falls on the road before lunch, at the bottom of the refreshing falls. Night in Techiman.




Day 6 : Observation of monkeys

Get up early at dawn, visit the monkey sanctuary Baobeng Fiema Sanctuary and the forest where they live. Return and night to Kumasi.




Day 7 : Immersion in Traditional Culture



Visit of traditional villages around Kumasi. Afternoon at Bosumtwi Lake. Night in Kumasi.




Day 8 : Cap on Tamale



A day of road for Tamale. Night in Tamale.

Departure for Mole Park early in the afternoon. Night in the park, in the heart of nature.




Day 10 : Ancient myth

Visit of the Mole Park in the early morning, then discovery of the village of Larabanga, its mosque and its magic stone. Night in Larabanga.




Day 11 : Road to the north



Departure in the morning for Tamale and then afternoon for Bolgatanga. Night in Bolgatanga.




Day 12 : Village in village



Visit of the traditional village of Sigiru, and possibly other small villages around the time available. Night in Bolgatanga.




Day 13 : Back to Kumasi



A long day of road to Kumasi. Night in Kumasi.

Well-deserved day of idleness on the beach of Labadi. Departure the next day.
