Danakil Desert and Muslim cities in eastern Ethiopia

Ethiopia

Eastern Ethiopia is a very different place, as the cities near the Somali border have an oriental architecture and a way of life steeped in Islam. Going up through the Danakil Desert, a road trip to the land of the Afar nomads will take you to the molten lava of the Erta Alé volcano and the rock forming the Danakil depression

South Ethiopian Omo Valley

Ethiopia

This tour in southern Ethiopia reveals a completely different facet of the country. Green landscapes in the lake region, also mountainous, then arid in the Omo Valley. We find here populations from multiple ethnic groups, with fascinating habits and customs, dress codes and tribal lifestyles that are exceptionally intact. A unique ethnological discovery in the world, which requires a 4x4 expedition of at least fifteen days to reach these remote lands

Major sites and nature trekking in northern Ethiopia

Ethiopia

A three-week stay is ideal for visiting northern Ethiopia. First of all because the history is rich, from Antiquity to the Middle Ages, there are many sites: Aksum, Tigray, Bahar Dar, Lalibela and Gondar... And because the geography is varied, from the Danakil desert to the Simiens mountains, passing through the altiplano of Addis Ababa, the capital at an altitude of 2,500 m.
